Chapmans Pool is a celebration of the beauty of this hidden part of the Jurassic Coast, tucked away and off the beaten track in Dorset. The Jurassic Coast is a dramatic and unforgiving coastline with soaring cliffs and crashing waves, steeped in stories of smugglers, shipwrecks and fossils. This secret beach is remote and difficult to reach and I’ve often had the entire beach to myself, save maybe a friendly seal now and again. If you can brave the steep and slippery path down to the sea, you won’t be disappointed.

It only felt right to try to embody some of its rugged beauty in print.

The A4 highly detailed 2-colour linocut was carved by hand from my own illustration of a place that is very dear to my heart on the Jurassic Coast.

This piece is printed in hand mixed dark grey-blue and egg-yolk-yellow using vivid, light-fast Caligo oil-based relief inks on off-white, acid free Kent paper (190gsm).
