Bristol Markets and Pedddle : The Creative Collaboration Market

It’s Global Collaboration Week at the end of September and with this in mind Pedddle decided to create their own creative collaboration. It’s a market to inform customers about the in-person events they can discover by putting them on the map. Market organisers are giving info about their market(s) and where they are, showcasing the variety of stallholders they might have at an event. It’s also giving their stalls an opportunity to work with the organisers and Pedddle to increase brand awareness and sell online.

The Frome Independent - July 2019

The Frome Independent is an award winning, destination street market with a difference. We reclaim Frome’s high street once a month to showcase the best independent craftspeople, designers, makers, producers and traders in the South West.

Established in 2013 as a not-for-profit organisation, The Frome Independent is produced and managed by Foreground, the innovative Frome-based visual art commissioning organisation.

The Frome Independent re-invents the traditional street market closing Frome town centre to traffic on the first Sunday of every month between March and December. We have taken established models of the specialist street market – artisan food, garden & flowers, antiques and collectibles – and have added to that an additional focus on designers and makers, plus elements more familiar from festivals: live music & DJs, street food, art and events. Explore the market here.

The Frome Independent has quickly grown to be one of the most significant elements of Frome’s social calendar attracting over 80,000 people a year and generating an estimated £2.5 million in revenue for its traders and Frome’s independent retailers and hospitality businesses.

PEXMAS 2018

I’m SO happy to be back at PEXMAS for a 3rd year running! I’ll be selling both days, Saturday and Sunday 11-6, and this year looks set to be a good’un with workshops, more street food sellers and the benefits of being under cover whilst still outside in Warwick Gardens (last year the snow had a big impact!)

Mission Statement - “To increase the social capital of communities within neighbourhoods, collectives of businesses or people who share a common interest, culture or challenge. Social capital is all about community cohesion through improving connections between people and organisations in these communities; encouraging civic participation, conversation, improving local knowledge and confidence. Mostly it’s about enjoying your community, feeling proud of it and a part of it, and having a grand old time in the process!”

Dorset Artisan Craft Marquee, Dorset County Show

I'll be selling within the Dorset Artisan Craft Marquee but see below for some more info about the show:

Let’s start with a bit of History - The Show formed in 1840, the year that Thomas Hardy was born, Cunard Ships launched a transatlantic Shipping Line, the Penny Black Stamp was issued and a group of local farmers advertised the 1st Annual Exhibition on 6th August 1840; forming The Dorchester Agricultural Society.

So little has changed and yet everything has changed – it is still mainly run by farming families and those with an interest in farming, horticulture, food and the countryside. Competitions bring out the best from the area to challenge for the cups, trophies and awards. Food and Drink are abundant in all corners of the showground, entertainment is laid on and best of all it becomes one big social event for Dorchester and Dorset; nothing really has changed!

Food and Drink can be purchased all over the showground, but nobody minds if you bringing a picnic either.

Farm animals: be careful around the farm animals, some might bite but all are beautiful and each animal that is shown is pampered by the farmer owner; farmers and stock people love animals, sometimes more than humans! From huge bulls to small rare breed sheep – chickens, pigs and goats too. The best farm animals are here to compete and be displayed. Please wash your hands after visiting any animals, it is best practice and after all you will want clean hands for that ice-cream or tasty snack.

Tractors Galore, red, red and black, green, light green, green and yellow, orange, blue,  black and some that can be any colour you order – they are all here in various sizes and prices. Farming still remains central to the show, the county and without farmers there would be no food!

Homecraft and Horticulture tents are a rarity outside of Dorset and the West Country – but here at the Dorset County Show they thrive and every year grow just a bit more – don’t miss out, anyone can compete, honestly it is not complicated, fill in your name for a schedule and we send you one! Children in particular get such fun from entering competitions and the seeing if they have won!

Horses & Ponies are a major part of any show – Here at Dorset County are several Dorset Finals plus qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, so you just might be looking at a National Winner in the making. Carriage Driving is a hugely expensive hobby – but to see a coach and four with everyone in their finest outfits is a spectacle to behold; scurry racing on the other hand is mad, mad and more mad – but has to be watched. Show Jumping is still a graceful sport over jumps that you think are impossible, this takes place in the horse area and the main ring, don’t miss watching these great animals jump the impossible.

What’s left – well … vintage cars, funfair, food halls, cookery demonstrations, shoppinging, beer tents, craft stands, the latest cars, rabbits, bees, cavies, country sports such as ferret and terrier racing Visit the peaceful lake side area and all the countryside activities.

Have a happy and fun filled Show, meet up with friends and we hope you enjoy it!

The Frome Independent - August 2018 - Frome On Sea

"All that’s missing is the sea…"

Join us on Sunday 5th August at Frome-On-Sea - Somerset's smallest, briefest urban beach... We'll have real sand, seagulls, deckchairs and donkey rides, plus a whole load of summer good-times from our lovely traders.

Frome-On-Sea has been a TFI institution since it’s inception in the summer of 2014. As many of you decamp to warmer climes during the summer holidays, we thought we would bring a little bit of the Great British seaside to Frome for the day, and install our very own pop-up beach for one market only in August each year.

Come and relax in a deckchair, build a sandcastle, or take a ride on one of our lovely therapy donkeys. The Vintage Mobile Disco will be in Club Tropicana mode, with a whole lineup of retro summertime sounds, and we may even have a visit from some very special friends of Rare Species who will help you get beach-body ready…
